Devonté Ezell
Designer, Musician, Chef, Storyteller
Before I became a product designer, I spent years both in the kitchen and on the stage as a professional chef and musician - two environments that shaped how I understand creativity, collaboration, and the needs of real people.
In the kitchen, I learned the importance of intuitive workflow, clear communication, and constant iteration. You don’t just serve a dish—you refine it until it feels effortless for the person experiencing it. That same mindset guides my design process today: create with purpose, test, refine, and always keep the user at the center.
As a musician, I developed an ear for rhythm and structure, but also for emotion and storytelling. Music taught me how to create experiences that guide people, make them feel something, and stay memorable. Now, I bring that sensibility into UX - crafting interfaces that not only function well, but feel cohesive and human.
Combining these backgrounds gives me a unique perspective as a designer. I approach problems with creativity and discipline, balancing aesthetic decisions with practical execution. Most importantly, I design with empathy - because whether it’s a plate, a song, or a digital product, it’s always about the experience.
